The accessibility menu

Look for the round red icon in the bottom-left corner of every page. Tapping it opens a panel with twelve controls grouped into four areas:

Text

Text size: step the entire page from 100% up to 140%.
Line spacing: add more room between lines for easier scanning.
Letter spacing: add more room between letters, helpful for some readers with dyslexia.
Align text left: remove centered alignment for more comfortable reading.
Readable font: swap the site fonts for Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface developed by the Braille Institute specifically for low-vision readers.
Underline all links: add a visible underline to every link so they are easier to spot.

Color and contrast

High contrast: black background, white text, and yellow links for maximum contrast.
Dark mode: a softer dark palette as an alternative to high contrast.
Saturation: reduce or remove color across the site to lessen visual noise.

Motion and pointer

Reduce motion: disable animations, parallax effects, and smooth scrolling.
Larger cursor: swap the default mouse pointer for an oversized, high-contrast cursor.
Show keyboard focus: add a strong red outline to whichever element is currently focused, helpful when navigating with a keyboard only.

Content

Hide images: replace photographs and illustrations with their alt text descriptions to reduce distraction.

Your choices are saved on the device you are using, so the next time you visit the site your settings will already be applied. The "Reset all" button at the bottom of the panel restores the default appearance.

Our commitment

I target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across every page on raymondconners.com. The site is built with:

Semantic HTML5 landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) so screen readers can navigate efficiently.
Color contrast tested to meet or exceed the 4.5:1 ratio for body text and 3:1 for large text.
Visible focus indicators on every interactive element.
Alternative text on every meaningful image.
Forms that pair every input with a visible, programmatic label.
Keyboard navigation across every menu, link, and form field. No mouse required.
Respect for the operating system's "reduce motion" preference even before the accessibility menu is opened.

Known limitations

A few areas of the site are still being improved. I want to be honest about them:

Embedded property search and MLS map content comes from third-party providers. Their accessibility features are outside my direct control, but I have selected vendors that meet WCAG 2.1 AA in their own audits.
PDF downloads (Buyer Book, Newcomer's Guide, Buyer and Seller Questionnaires) are exported from design software. They have a logical reading order and embedded text, but they do not yet include a complete set of tagged structure elements. If you need a screen-reader-friendly version of any document, contact me and I will send one within one business day.
A small number of decorative SVG illustrations are not yet given alt text. I am working through them.
