Eastside excellence where tech wealth meets lakefront elegance

Bellevue on the map.
On the Eastside across Lake Washington from Seattle.
Positioning
A sense of place.
Bellevue is no longer Seattle's quiet neighbor, it is the Eastside's crown jewel and one of the most consequential technology and real estate markets in North America. Anchored by the campuses of Microsoft in adjacent Redmond and Amazon's fast-growing Bellevue footprint (projected to reach 25,000 employees), the city is also home to TikTok, OpenAI, T-Mobile, Costco, Meta, and Snowflake. Bellevue's luxury retail corridor, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Prada at Bellevue Square and The Bravern, rivals the finest shopping districts in North America.
What distinguishes Bellevue is the rare combination of urban amenity and natural splendor. Fourteen miles of waterfront on Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish frame a city that rises 1,500 feet from shoreline to hilltop. The Bellevue School District has earned the title of Washington's #1 public district for three consecutive years (Niche, 2024–2026). The Sound Transit 2 Line, fully open across Lake Washington as of March 28, 2026, delivers Downtown Bellevue to Seattle's International District in approximately 19 minutes, traffic-free.

Commute & access
Getting around.
Bellevue is anchored by two transformative connections: the SR-520 Evergreen Point Floating Bridge (the longest floating bridge in the world) and the I-90 Homer M. Hadley Bridge (second-longest). Downtown Bellevue to Downtown Seattle is 15–25 minutes off-peak via SR-520 and 20–30 minutes via I-90; rush hour adds 30–45 minutes. SeaTac Airport sits 17 miles south and is reachable in 20–30 minutes by car.
The Sound Transit 2 Line (East Link Extension) opened its Eastside starter segment in April 2024 and completed the full Crosslake Connection on March 28, 2026, making it the world's first light rail to operate on a floating bridge. From Bellevue Downtown Station, the trip to Seattle's International District/Chinatown takes approximately 19 minutes; to Westlake, 25–28 minutes; to Redmond Technology Station, 10 minutes. Service runs every 8 minutes during peak hours. Bellevue stations: South Bellevue, East Main, Bellevue Downtown, Wilburton, Spring District/120th, BelRed/130th. For Bainbridge Island, the typical route is to drive or take light rail to Seattle's Colman Dock, then board the 35-minute Washington State Ferry, door-to-door approximately 1.5–2 hours.
